The European Coil Coating Association (ECCA) annually chooses the most interesting buildings with metallic façades from all around the world and incorporates them in the prestigious ECCA COLLECTION catalogue. This year, in 2016, the DEKMETAL facade has fought its way among these award-winning façades (IKEM – the Z7 pavilion by architect Petr Neřold and his STUDIO A91).

The Institute of Clinical and Experimental Medicine (IKEM) is situated in the southern part of Prague near Kunratický forest. The look of the façade perfectly reflects this forest location. The substructure and the visible elements of the façade perfectly copy the elliptic shape of the building, which is very tastefully set in the environment.

The façade consists of DEKCASSETTE LE cassettes in the colour of the NCS sampler, reference S 3020-G50Y, installed on a two-way DEKMETAL DKM2A substructure. The size of the cassettes range from 1,000 to 2,000 mm in the length and 525-550 mm in height. The cassettes are fully perforated. The perforation is composed of 10 mm holes in the basic raster. The resulting visual appearance of the trees is created by perforations with a double diameter – 20 mm.

The trees on the façade perfectly complete the environment of the nearby forest, creating an original design element of the façade. Creation of these patterns demanded an accurate and flawless design, high manufacturing demands and precise installation.
